2025 Annual Report of the Center for Environmental Research and Technology (CE-CERT)
With 84 active research projects totaling $43.8 million in funding, CE-CERT remains at the forefront of air quality, clean energy, and sustainable mobility. In 2025, our team of 69 faculty and staff spearheaded critical global initiatives — including the launch of the Hydrogen Engine Alliance of North America and an extensive characterization of Pacific coast ship emissions — all while mentoring 100 graduate and undergraduate students. From expanding our research capabilities with new faculty to deploying community-based solutions like the Riverside Clean Air Carshare, CE-CERT bridges the gap between scientific discovery and delivering the research needed to drive real-world impact on our environment and communities.
